Re: Can't use imported media from external hard drive 11/20/2009 7:46:01 AM   (Total replies: 0)
I also can see no logical reason for this happening. Are there any other files you've used previously on the hard drive? Do these still work? If yes, it could be a file problem. If no, it could be a hd/connection problem. What about capturing another segment, it only needs to be a few seconds long and trying that. If the other files work, what sort of length are they, just in case this file is an hour and the others are only 20 mins.

We need to know the file format of the video that goes into your movie. It is often the case that incomaptible files behave like this when saved. http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutorials/MovieMaker/File_type_compatibility.htm There are various reasons for why the wmv file may look poor. The original file is of low quality adn the conversion reduces this quality more. You are making a small in physical size file larger, whcih shows up as even poorer quality, a 320x240 file will look ...

Re: Project complete but stopping when I go to burn it 11/13/2009 12:27:49 PM   (Total replies: 0)
Often caused by using incompatible files, see http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutorials/MovieMaker/File_type_compatibility.htm You may need to convert your files to something which is ok with MM. WHat are your file types? MP3's do this and jpegs can be a problem, particularly that many in one project. You might find splitting it and then joining back up the moive is best. http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutorials/MovieMaker/SplitComplexProject.htm

Re: Bought a European (PAL) format HD camera, 11/13/2009 12:23:35 PM   (Total replies: 0)
Standards conversion is a tricky process to do properly, not only is the frame size and frame rate different, which most people know about, but also the way the chrominace and luminanceand black burst etc. is handled. Some programmes will do a job which is satisfacory to most, so really it is a trial and error suggestion from me. Good programmes costs hundreds of dollars, so buying a new camcorder is often cheaper!!!!! For more advice let us know what cam it is, make and model. MM2.1 ...

Re: Custom Profile For Capturing? 11/9/2009 7:38:45 AM   (Total replies: 1)
The raw footage is generally the raw footage, you can't make it better, but if you say what you are capturing then maybe someone can advise, as in is it a video from a camcorder, hi def, std def, screen capture, low res movie from a stills camera etc.

If you use WME then it is simple to save your capture profile, just follow the wizard.
