Not successful in this corner using Vista Home Basic... launching the installer went through some setup process but returned the unlucky number of 1638.

Got the package running... just took a couple system restores and reinstalling the Pixelan and Rehan packages. All is well.

On my Home Basic laptop the DLL and other files setup in the new folders, but the DLL fails to register. The transitions show up in Movie Maker but function only as wipes.

Re: Extracting audio from video in LIVE Movie Maker 12/12/2010 9:26:27 PM   (Total replies: 2)
welcome to the forum.... the new Windows Live Movie Maker has the same separate video and audio tracks as the earlier versions. What's changed is that in earlier versions you could drag a 2nd copy of the video clip down to the audio/music track and Movie Maker would handle it as an audio file. With the new version you need a source file that has a file extension indicating it's an audio file. What I do is rename the video file to videofile.wmv.wma and it'll go into a WLMM project fine as ...

You won't be able to effectively rename the extension if your system is still set to the default of not letting you see such a file extension.
