It happened to me from time to time, especially on my older computer with an Athlon 2600+. I'm now using a HP laptop Windows 7 with Duo Core T6600 2.2Ghz, and I had this slowness a few times. How new or old is your computer? I noticed that I have to click slowly (pause, play, cut etc) and let it have time to react.

Re: movie not saving - please HELP!

I don't know if this would help. I answered that in another thread earlier on. I had the same problem over a week ago. My video was in avi lasting 45 minutes plus a slideshow of over 100 photos, with a "fade" transition between photos. I got the same message when saving it in the computer and funnily enough, no hiccups when exporting it back to a mini DV tape. Everything was ok after I deleted all the transitions. My conclusion is that my project was too heavy. I don't have enough knowledge ...

Re: Splitting music 2 add to timeline

I think I've tried this. Drag the music onto timeline, if this is mixed with video, you can shorten it by dragging from the left (beginning of the song) or from the right (end of the song). If it is mixed with a slide show, you can simply cut it with the pair of scissors. The most difficult is timing, i.e. when to cut?

I don't know if this would help. This happened to me last week using WMM with XP Pro, during a slideshow after the film, I had occasional black holes lasting between 20 to 60 seconds. I reedited the whole sequence with WMM 2.6 under W7 and the problem was solved. I lost three days' work.

Media Player unable to read video

I have 2 WMM edited hour-long videos saved in tapes - West America 1 and 2. I just finished sending these 2 videos back to the hard disk for burning a DVD, I double-clicked video 1 and Windows Media Player played it ok, when I double-clicked on video 2, Media Player refused to play it. The two videos were done in exactly the same way, I appreciate any suggestion.

Re: WMM 2.6 unable to create movie

Thanks to PapaJohn's website, this is probably due to the project's weight. A 45' film with a slide show of about a hundred photos, with a 'fade' transition after each photo, I was able to re-export the film back to a miniDV tape, but it was too heavy to save it in the PC. I deleted all the transitions and eveything was ok.

WMM 2.6 unable to create movie

I tried to reexport a 50 minutes edited video with an extra 6 minutes of slide show with 2 tracks of music at the end with WMM 2.6 under W7 onto a miniDV tape. I had an error message 'WMM is unable to create movie'. I have done this sort of mix lots of time, tho' the slide show was shorter. Any explanation and/or solution is appreciated.

I just checked the Sony support page, and apparently I cannot export the edited video back to the Sony HC9E with WMM with Windows 7 64 bits for archives. Is there a way to get round this?

| Thanks for trying. It's a bit of a pain, isn't it? I bought a Windows 7 Core Duo for faster video editing using WMM 2.6, but with the HDV format, it seems I may have to change the editing software in order to reexport to a tape for archives. Do you have any suggestion?
Secondly, do you have a quicker way to burn a DVD after editing with WMM. My silly procedure is:
1. Import my unedited video into PC
2. Edit, add titles, music etc
3. Export back to a miniDV tape in 16 bit as master
4. ... |
