Importing .mov or .avi files into Live Movie Maker 10/10/2015 4:04:12 PM   (Total replies: 3)
Hi all, I created 4 movie files in Windows Movie Maker in XP Pro. I opened Windows Live Movie Maker and tried to Open Project but it would not open the one .mov file nor any of the 3 .avi files I created in XP's Movie Maker. Is there another way to import them? Do I need to rename them first to be imported? Or must I start all over and take the video I saved off the camera and the audio (song - .wav, .mpo3) I have and re-create the whole project all overt again? Thank you.

Hi Chris, Thanks for sharing your thoughts and suggestions. Which video converter app would you recommend? Then, once I have imported my video file into Windows LIVE Movie Maker it seems to only save my project as a .wlmm format. Is there a way to export my project in WLMM to another more common format others use? .mp4 or any uncompressed format which most use? Thanks so much,

Chris, Thank you so much for sharing your insights and the video conversion software. I'll definitely check that out. I have 2 other issues I'm trying to resolve in Windows LIVE Movie Maker and would very much appreciate any help you can please share so I can finish (after 16 months) this little 2 minute video. 1. Following each opening title on the Timeline is an empty box the same size as the title box. I wanted to shorten the time between each opening title and tried doing that ...

Hi Monica, Thanks for sharing that. I discovered just playing around with the program you can just import from computer files created in old WMM.

Title time shoretinign and Windows Moive Maker 2.6 12/16/2015 12:15:20 AM   (Total replies: 0)
Hi, I'd like to shorten the duration of time between the roll in/up of each opening title. I can shorten how long the title remains on screen but it's not clear how to abbreviate the time between each title rolling in. I'm also interested in recreating what I had with XP's built-in WMM. I could create titles which crisscrossed - e.g. A Film By title could cross from left to right while the title by George Gallo crossed underneath from right to left. I don't see how you can do that in ...

LIVE Movie Maker - shortening time between opeong titles 12/3/2015 1:25:26 PM   (Total replies: 0)
Hi, I'm trying to arrange for a shorter time between opening titles so that each title appears faster on screen. I see on the Timeline 2 boxes for each title. The first of the 2 boxes contains the actual characters/lettering (e.g. A film by) in the titles and/or credits and the box immediately following that box is empty. I thought if I minimized that empty box which follows the box with the screen titles and credits it would abbreviate the time between rolling titles and ...

Trouble downloading Windows Movie Maker 2.6 for Windows 7 12/3/2015 1:12:17 PM   (Total replies: 0)
Hi, I've been informed that Windows Movie Maker 2.6 for Windows 7 is *not* the same as the Movie Maker built-in to XP Pro. With that understanding, I tried to download Windows Movie Maker 2.6 for Windows 7 by searching on the MS site https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/result.aspx?q=movie%20maker%202.6%20for%20windows%207 I click on the option - Download Windows Movie Maker 2.6 from Official Microsoft ... but always get this error message... We are sorry, the page you ...

Editing pop sound 10/21/2015 8:23:31 PM   (Total replies: 1)
Hi, I'm just learning the nuances of Windows Live Movie Maker. I need to eliminate a pop sound in a .wmv file I created with an inexpensive digital camera and the old XP Windows Movie Maker? I can play the file in Live Movie Maker and I can hear the pop. Could you please share how that's done in Windows 7 Live Movie Maker? Thank you.

Re: Editing out audio noise 10/31/2015 4:41:10 PM   (Total replies: 1)
Hi Run, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and suggestions. I had converted (a copy) of the video into an .mp3 and did (with Audacity) edit out that popping sound but then I'm left with an audio file which Audacity can not seem to convert back into a video format. I've never used WLMM and had only used WMM (XP) once so I have no idea how to take that edited audio and "lay that down as an audio track" to sync it with the original video? I also have an .mp3 music I wanted to sync ...
