If you are converting them from .VOB to MPG then the sound may disappear. Try converting them to AVI and then import into Movie Maker.

Consider Windows Movie Maker like you do Microsoft Sound Recorder. It's a very small application (only a couple mb) and is intergrated into The Windows XP Operating System. There is no uninstall and it doesnt take up any resources by leaving alone. The only time it will run is when you launch the moviemak.exe. There are ways to uninstall it, but why bother since it doesnt hurt anything. If it's disk space you are looking for then I suggest running the disk cleanup wizard under - start - ...

I own a Mac and a PC but unfortunately I spend most of my time using my PC. Part of the problem with Apple computers are the cost. I can buy a PC for sub-$500.00 but a Mac will cost me 4-times that.
