Here is one <a href="http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb469712.aspx">starting point</a> for creating TFX. Have fun, PatrickL

Yeh Gimp has a fairly steep (worthwhile) learning curve. My biggest starting problem with the Filter Factory was <b>finding it</b> after installing the plug-in. It is at <b>Filters->Generic->Filter Factory Converter</b>. Have fun, PatrickL

AKS, here are some spokes gradients to try out. <a href="http://a.imageshack.us/img828/7007/aksspokes25.png">AKS Spokes25</a> <a href="http://a.imageshack.us/img840/2350/aksspokes25saw.png">AKS Spokes25S</a> <a href="http://a.imageshack.us/img836/4928/aksspokes25saw16x9.png">AKS Spokes25S16x9</a> And yes, I have seen your highlights videos. Your kids are becoming quite the athletes and your videos keep getting better :-) . PatrickL

AKS, the plugin I use (Filter Factory) works on integer arithmetic, so the more spokes, the more roundoff errors occur. You can get a bit of relief just by making the gradient images larger, and letting MM do the floating point interpolations. Gets rid of some of the jaggies, but at the cost of processing (preview gets a bit hesitant, but the published clip is OK). Here are some larger images for you to try out, and a Rays one where the spokes start at the center and reveal going outward (a ...

AKS, I used the aksrays50.png with these XML parameters: <color="purple"> <BorderSoftness type="float" value="5" /> <BorderColor type="color" value="White" /> <BorderWidth type="float" value="2" /></color> and rendered at HD 1080p. Glad your daughter liked it, PatrickL

Anthony, in Gimp's Filter Factory plugin, I use this set of Vanes (Spokes) equations. r is <b>put((scl(d,-1023,1023,0,1023)*val(0,1,32)/2+val(1,0,255))%256,1)</b> g is <b>get(1)</b> b is <b>get(1)</b> a is <b>a</b> This uses controller 0 for number of vanes (1-32) and controller 1 for rotational offset. And here is another way using ShaderTFX and Rehan's Gradient wipe: ShaderTFX must be in unexpired trial or registered. <a href="http://home.comcast.net/~pleabo/MovieMaker/Images/Wheel1.png">Wheel1.png</a> and the XML below for the AddOnTFX folder. <TransitionsAndEffects Version="2.8" specialiconresourceid="101"> <Transitions> <TransitionDLL guid="ShaderTFX.ShaderTransition"> <Transition name="Wheel 1 Spoke CCW" iconid="53" guid="Wheel 1 Spoke CCW" ShaderModel="2"> ...

You're welcome. Glad it worked for you. The Filter Factory plug-in for Gimp allows some interesting programming of gradients. PatrickL

You might use an overlay that is black where you want to censor and transparent where you want to see. See <a href="http://papajohn.org/MM2-Editing-TextEffects-CustomOverlays.html">PapaJohn's Overlay Title information web page</a>. Use the correct XML for your Movie Maker version. Good luck, PatrickL

That error message implies that the final (or both) quote (") was missing when you typed in the command. PatrickL
