Import fiasco 12/29/2014 6:59:55 PM   (Total replies: 1)
I had some experience with the earlier version of MM with XP, but now with version 6.1 and Win 7, seems like there has been some changes, undoubtedly. I made a video clip that had the MP4 extension which MM does not like. So I converted it to wmv. I import it into the Collection box. I can see each clip in the preview screen. I move the clips down to the Timeline area and when I try to play them there, i get nothing...the line moves and i do hear the audio, but no video. Is there a way around ...

I did Help/about and that is what came up with 6.0.1 vers. Yes, I have Win 7 and 64 bit setup. Now if i convert it again from MP4, to wmv and now the later version your recommending won't that make it worse? I am just asking. Thanks...I just d/l Freemake video converter and will try that.

Well i got a message after downloading WMM 6.0 that my 'card' could not allow to run this program because of accelerator difficulties. I do not have a card in my new build ( since April ) i use AMD with its internal graphics. I never heard of this.

How to preview my video 12/10/2014 6:45:51 PM   (Total replies: 1)
I had no problem with MM when it came with my XP OS...worked like a charm. I never really paid any attention to versions and suspect the one i have now with Win 7, and had to download to get it is a bit different, so I suspect that this is suppose to be an Improvement? I had various video clips that i wanted to make one video of it. I put each clip into the Storyline. After finishing I clicked to preview it, so I could make some edits and the needle would move where the small video screen is ...

HI, i too am having a problem with this code. I typed it in notepad, saved it as .xml file, copied it and could not paste it in the created folder that was suggested in his instructions of the Share/AddOnTFX folder. The edit tab of paste is grayed out.

Thanks..I have XP SP3 and WMM 2.1.2048 version. I copied it to the AddonTFX, but it appears as shortcut....is this correct? When I finished the file and saved it, it only appears with the search program as a shortcut. I had put it on my Desktop, so I could find it. The search brings this file up as a shortcut, and on My computer. When I open My computer I do not see it there. This is weird...i never had a problem in saving a file before..but i never created one with an xml extension either.

Well for years I would go to File in notepad, choose Save as, give it a title and had no problems. Perhaps your aware of another way? The only thing i can think of is the name i gave that xml file. I just gave it a name that would make it easy to find when i would copy to the Share folder as suggested. The instructions on how to install this file just says to be sure you give it an xml extension...which i did. Its a very small file. I cannot even open it, cause it goes directly to windows IE ...

I don't understan your last statement about the code...could you explain? What was it that i typed in then?

OK, this time IE opened it up with no problems...now, tell me where would i see "Zoom 20%" in MM? I opened every option and saw nothing that says "Zoom 20%". I do see under View, zoom in, zoom out, but they were always there to begin with. Was i suppose to copy from IE and paste it into the Share folder of WMM? If so, you neglected to mention that part, although others said i should.

I explained in my steps that it should end up in C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX and the file name should be zoom20percent.xml>>> It is not in that folder ADDonTFX. The folder is empty, so is the Tools/video effects in WMM. Video Effects cannot even be scrolled..its there by itself with a asterisk before it.
