Re: Movie Maker cant publish the movie 6/27/2007 1:16:17 AM   (Total replies: 1)
Okay I am also still having the problems. I tried everything on Papajohn's site. I never had nero or voxware on this system. So that is not my issue. What I get when it crashes, varies: A. It just goes white then automatically restarts Movie Maker then reloads the project file I use without telling me there is an error. B. Goes to white and comes back saying Movie Maker crashed and is now restarting. Those two are the main ones I get and the only ones I remember at this moment. I am ...

What does that ax file usually run with? Any specific program?

Re: Preview problem after adding transition 8/3/2007 1:39:58 AM   (Total replies: 1)
That "clicking into properties then canceling" worked for me. I just gave it a shot. Seems to me Movie Maker didn't load the selected clips cause the green bar underneath the preview window wasn't there before I did that now it is. If you know the culprit clip(s) then do that trick with em. It seems that when you mess with anything in the properties (even if you cancel) it reloads the clip again whether a change occured or not. If you don't know what clip did it, then do it to all clips. Dunno ...

I was also looking for something like this. Thanks Considerate Guy (pun intended :))

Re: Won't make clips properly, audio and no video 6/18/2008 6:50:46 PM   (Total replies: 0)
I've had the problem in which the video will go black during the editting process. The only way I found around that is to convert the video file into another format. For example, my avi didn't work properly so I used another program and converted the file into mkv and reimported it.

Re: Whats a really good video converter 12/25/2007 6:17:44 PM   (Total replies: 1)
AlltoAVI is the best that i found. Especially since they released the new updated version with a user-friendly interface. This program converts anything into avi format. VOB, rm, rmvb, mkv, ogm, etc etc

Re: Let Microsoft know your concerns about Vista Movie Maker 6.0 6/27/2007 1:10:10 AM   (Total replies: 1)
Yes, if during import, Movie Maker would split the clips that would be nice. Alright before you continue on to my list, my list is only stuff I've seen using Vista Basic. I'm not sure if there are more features on any of the better versions of Vista but this is it. My concerns/wants: -Lack of overlaying clips ontop of each other. For example while clip one plays, clip two is also playing on the same spot on the timeline. Probably for this you guys can add in a second clip line plus a ...

Rmvb files cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker. To be able to view that file though you can download Real Alternative or Real Player. Personally I like Real Alternative.

PapaJohn, you can use a converter called Alltoavi to successfully convert any file into AVI format without no problems. This is the sole converter I use if I need an amv file. Keep in mind though it will only convert from a format to avi. You cannot use this program to, say, convert from rmvb to wmv. Only to avi.

Re: DivX solution for publishing error 8/9/2007 5:18:39 AM   (Total replies: 0)
Oh I just wanted to add on: You do not need to reformat your system in order to use this solution. I reformated cause I watned to eliminate any unnecessary codecs still left on my system. Also the restore point is only a suggestion. Its better to be safe than sorry. Really all you need to do is uninstall the DivX bundle and reinstall following steps 6 and 7.
