Re: exporting video in 1920*1080 WMV won't work :( 6/23/2017 4:02:08 PM   (Total replies: 1)
Make sure 16:9 is selected as aspect ratio in Moviemakers preferences settings. Try croping the video files in the project by a small amount to see if it helps Modify or get a copy of a better prx file (The templates for saving in different res) in "C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\Profiles" to make sure it renders with the right wmv quality settings. Download the "DPL widescreen effects pack" from the Internet Archive site. It contains useful effects for trimming and stretching ...

Re: WMM "cannot save the movie to specified location." How to fix? 6/23/2017 4:14:41 PM   (Total replies: 0)
1. Make sure you save the movie to a drive with enough free space on it. 2. And make sure your windows account have write, create and modify "file access rights" required to save and modify files in your selected folder. Maybe you are trying to save in a program file folder? By default you are only granted "read" rights to system and program folders to keep you from damage your system files ;) Good Luck! :) -FrodeFender

Re: Restarting at Forum 6/23/2017 3:38:36 PM   (Total replies: 0)
Moviemaker (Vista Version 6.0) for life!! Hehehe :) Runs on my Windows 7 like a charm! Try to disable third party video/sound codecs in your Preferences Settings in your Moviemaker program. You can safely disable ALL that is listed because Moviemaker uses Microsofts own internal encoders/decoders. I made to many high quality effects/transitions to mmv 6.0 to just turn my back on it. And, like you, I KNOW the software in and out! :) TCB from me! :) -FrodeFender

Re: Windows Movie Maker HELP!!! 6/23/2017 3:22:25 PM   (Total replies: 0)
Wlmp files is just "project-saving" files for your Moviemaker projects. To create a videofile you have to render/save a movie from within Moviemaker. All Moviemaker versions has a selection of templates for saving the movie with your desired resolution, bitrate and file formats etc... Note: Mp4 file-format is supported from Windows Live! Moviemaker (Windows 7) and up (Windows 8/10) Rendering a movie file may take a while if your projects contains large movie and picture files, so be ...

Re: Smooth transitions between regular speed and slowmotion speeds 5/27/2017 10:26:16 AM   (Total replies: 0)
I would render the video clips to a video without transitions, import the video in a new project, cut it in parts and then add some smoth transition effects. Since the transitions-effect applied now will not be affected by the speed changes effects added to each clip in your previous project. See if it helps :) -F.F.

Witch Movie Maker version are you running? Are you certain it is not just only the preview video render that could be selecting internaly the wrong/failsafe wmv codec for playback of the preview window? What I mean is, have you tested to publish (render) the work, with high bitrate, HD resolution and frames pr. second (Interlaced/Progressive) and then checked the final result in Windows Media Player? :) My Vista 6.0 (has lots of tweaks and modding files) sometimes acts the same way you ...

Re: Any Way to Darken the WMM Workspace (6.0 Vista)? 11/27/2016 1:40:08 AM   (Total replies: 0)
Moviemaker's GUI is defined in .dll files in Moviemaker program folder. Use a free editor like ResHacker.exe to open the dll's and replace BMP, JPG and PNG with your own modified picturefiles of darker skin color. But I'm uncertain if all parts of the workspace is defined in picture files. The rest of the colors is probably defined by code like RGB values somewhere in some of the DLL files or system files. I would look trough the registry settings for the program too ;) Hope this helps giving ...
