I would like to be able to have music in the background while adding narration or other sound effects without having to save the movie and re-add another sound layer manually.

Open Movie Maker 2 and select from the top menu, Help then About - You should see Windows Movie Maker version 2.0.3312.0 or maybe 2.0.xxx incase my Plus! add-on made the version change. Also I just checked my .exe file and it's version 2.0.3312.0 as well... It sounds like you have Movie Maker 1 Look in C:\Program Files\Movie Maker for moviemk.exe and see if you have version 2.0.3312.0. I hope that helps. Bill

MSCam came from the Microsoft Office 97 CD... It was under CD extras or something of that nature... See if you can find an old Office 97 CD and try installing the file... Good Luck!
