Is there any way to make a movie clip look like it's skidding across the screen with a little bounce to it?

You could use Rehan's PIP+.
Just define the size of the video you want and where you want it to be at different times.
I've attached an example.
If you don't have PIP+ you could also make custom titles which manipulate the EntranceVideoRect and ExitVideoRect parameters to achieve something similar.

Well - thanks to glow's post, I messed around and did my best to make a Pong-style effect! I don't know if it's old or not but I thought I'd share anyway.

Slap that in notepad, save as 'whateveryouwant.xml' and have a quick chuckle. Wonder if anyone'd want to make the pong bats to knock it back and forth with!

Obviously, the longer the clip the slower the effect it'll be. This is a good 15-20 seconds I think, main part where effect takes place. So common sense tells you that shorter clips = faster movement.

Enough of me stating the bloody obvious, though.

Thanks but thats not quite what I'm looking for. I need it to like skid in from both the left and right. And I should say that I have no idea how to do it my self. So if it can be done I would need someone to do it for me. Then I could just copy and past it to my MM. Thanks everone :)

Can't really think of anything else that could do what you were wanting - but got this to go to the right, then to the left, then to the centre. No size change though - that can easily be fiddled about with, thankfully. But is this the general effect you want, from right to left to centre (or from left to right to centre)?

How about something like this?

If you look close, you can see the globe is really in a square window,
and the backgrounds match. I did this like a year ago and it's a transition,
but it could be done as an effect I guess.

That's great dlk. But I can't seam to get it onto my MM. I copy paste and save to my mm as globe.xml. But when I open my MM it's not there.SadI'll keep trying.

Just to verify...

You need PIP+(unexpired trial or registered version)
It will show up in transitions list.
It will be called "PIP+ stretch in from right"

I'm gonna ask a newbie question...what are the opening numbers on each line for?

(for example - 0.300, 0.25, 0.28, 0.75, 0.45, 1.0;
0.301, 0.25, 0.28, 0.75, 0.45, 1.0; - in this example I refer to the 0.300 and the 0.301)

I understand the other 4 numbers thankfully.

Those values represent time. Because the window moves and the
dimensions change during the transition, those values define the different
times intervals during the transition. Time is measured in a percentage
of the entire transition length(which we don't control in the XML)
So 0.0 represents the very start of the transition, 1.00 always represents
the end of the transition. .300 represents 30% into the transition and
.301 represents just a fraction later. So if we look at the time
values here... you'll see that I moved to a location and size,
held that postion for a moment, and then moved to the next
position. Like I said, I wrote this over a year ago so I can't
remember exactly why I did it that way, but this is where it
compresses, bounces back and then reverberates, so I assume
it looked best when I used that technique. If you make the transition
long...you will see that action in slow motion.This is a fairly complex
animation, so there are lots of time positions. If a window just
zooms in from small to large, you would just use 0.00 and 1.00.
