Multiple Audio Track Request Posted: 26 Aug 2003 07:33 PM |
I would like to be able to have music in the background while adding narration or other sound effects without having to save the movie and re-add another sound layer manually. |

I SECOND THAT MOTION! Id love to be ablt to add more than one audio event. Its sucks trying to add multiple sound effects in an outside editor to fit into one timeline in MM2. |

This is the ONLY feature that is missing that makes me have to use my adobe premier software!!! I only premier to make clips that require multiple streams of audio cause i do a lot of 3d animation and 1 stream aint enough. I dont use it much cause MM2 had easier transitions and title creating. Good job so far but Come on Microsoft...audio philes need help 2! |

I fourth that!!!
I always have to save the same film like 3 or 4 times and importing the newest into a new project to get multiple layers of SFX and music. Why doesn't microsoft just fork out some cash to keep us moviemakers happy? It would also help marketing, as more moviemakers would be inclined to buy a PC rather than a MAC. MACs are a very formidable opponent in the movie making sector of personal computing. I've used imovie and it already has this feature plus editible effects (which would be great in windows movie maker). Though, MM2 is EASY to use, unlike imovie which is slower and not as user friendly (in my opinion). |

I umpteenth it! This, along with my animation requests are the only problems i can think of. It may cause me to go and use the apple quicktime software... oh oh..
But I'd rather not. WMM2 is so much easier to use, this is a definite must. |

Agreed here. (It would really be nice to know if Microsoft had even planned on upgrading Movie Maker 2, or had planned on releasing more transitions/effects -- or even a proper guide into the different effect parameters in the "Creating Transitions and Effects" whitepaper.) |

Absolutely need more audio tracks!!! Movie Maker would be the ultimate if Microsoft implemented the ability to add more audio tracks!!! It takes so much extra unecessary time, energy, and frustration having to export and import multiple versions of the same video to layer-up audio tracks, or even having to use 3rd party software as a multi-track audio device; only to find how difficult it can be to sync the original dialog voices with the video clip.
Even if Microsoft's wanted to keep the emphasis on "easy to use" (without making it appear too complicated for novice users)... they make it so that you could expand or colapse the extra audio tracks in the same way as the Video track can be now.
And while you're at it, why not provide stereo panning, frequency enhancement (bass, mid range, treble) and normalization ability for the audio.
Thanks
Nigel

I've read this post a million times just wishing there could be multi-audio tracks!
Is there any way at all that anyone whether they be a normal programmer or one of the guys at Microsoft can make some sort of plug-in???? |

Just a suggestion, I found it easier to just use Audio editing software to mix music and voice tracks together. There's a nice free one at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ if you want. |
