Movie Replay Stutters

WMM ver 2012 (Build 16.4.3505.0912) WIN 7 Ultimate sp 1
When I load and play a finished project with sound the movie stutters. I found that in services a service called multimedia class scheduler is started automatically. When I stop this service there is no sound but the movie plays steadily. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to correct would be most appreciated.
