Need advice on whether to upgrade
Posted: 29 Oct 2013 01:27 PM
Hi:
I haven't used WMM in about a year or so. I am running OS7 and WMMv6.

Is there an upgrade to v6 worth doing? I have put speed effects on my v6 which are very
handy for speeding up and slowing down in small increments. I don't want to lose this
functionality.

Is there a good reason to take the trouble to upgrade?

Many thanks.

Thanks to all for your help.

You have Windows 7 so could install Movie Maker 2012 as part of Windows Essentials. You can use either the classic WMM 6.0 or MM 2012. They are installed separately and don't share collections or files.

In that way you could try out the new MM 2012 and see if it meets your needs or not. Unfortunately there are no customizations supported in MM 2012, so you'll have to see if the given speed increments do what you need. (It includes 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2x, 4x, etc.)

Or you could always continue to use WMM 6.0 when you want to work with a different speed increments.

Thanks Blaine. I appreciate your help. I also appreciate how quickly you reply.
My new site is hepcatstickers.com in case you want to take a look at some
really cute prairie dogs playing musical instruments.

Thanks again,

Selwyn
