Good morning

I have a portable PC Toshiba Qosmio equipped G50 12q with Window Vista Ultimate
Version pack 2

Connecting the video camera Sony PC 115 and to the PC through the I.Link cable to firewire while that I am importing a determined video in the program of Window Movie Maker in order to record it, in the moment in which it comes reproduced in the screen of Movie Maker I see the reproduced video from the videocamera but do not feel the audio.

When then I have ended to import the video I go and it always see again in Movie Maker, the program has recorded or the video that the audio that exactly I did not feel it was importing while it.

Task that in phase of import I would have to see or video that to hear l' audio.

I must change to some setting in the system seen for how much the cable to firewire?

Tank you for your reply

Firewire or i-link as Sony call it should transfer both the video and audio without changing any settings.

Has this worked previously?

If yes, have you made any changes to the cpomputer since it last worked?

If it hasn't worked on this computer, perhaps you could try the camcorder and cable on a computer that has windows XP on it.

Or, you could download this free programme, windv, and see if that captures the video and audio for you.

How do you know the firewire cable works properly?
Have you used it with another camcorder and it works on another computer?

I'm not sure what the second sentence means, the transation is probably poor. Are you saying that another camcorder works properly?

Installing any programme can make a difference and ones that are related to video or audio can be worst.

Have you tried windv?

Ciao

windv not I have still tried because they are momentarily far away from house and computer.

I wanted to say that I have connected 2 video cameras with the cable to firewire.

Video and audio are transferred regularly from one videocamera to another and vice - versa.

This in order to say that the cable to firewire is not defective.

Perhaps mistake but I have the feeling that is a movie maker problem

If I am right.

You connect two video recorders together using a firewire cable and you can transfer both video and audio between them.

This does tell us that the camcorder and the cable are ok.

I would next test the second camcorder on your pc and also try your camcorder on another pc, preferably one running a different version of windows.

This should tell us whether your firewire port on the pc is working ok.

However I have telephoned own now to the technical service of Sony (marks of my video room) and they have confirmed to me that there are some programs type Movie Maker that they do not allow to hear directly the audio of a video in the exact moment in which it comes transferred in the PC records even if it correctly.

And they have own to me cited the name of the program Movie Maker
