Insert audio - - - the sound wave is inaccurate in "show storyboard"

THIS OCCURS ONLY SOMETIMES.

I insert an mp3 song into my video. When I look at the storyboard, the song is about double the length in time. However, the "wave" of the song is the correct length (in minutes/seconds). I then go to the end of the file and drag it to the end of the wave length.

when I play it back, the song is cut short

Any idea what causes this? and how to correct it?

Movie Maker can have a problem with some mp3 files. Try converting them to wma or wav format, as that usually resolves the problem.
