Can't Save Movie Except in Phone format Posted: 03 Nov 2009 06:38 PM |
I have a 27 minute movie that I previously was able to save in high quality format BEFORE I got to 19 minutes. Now I can't save it in anything but low-quality phone mode because I get this message:
"Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again”
There is nothing wrong with my source files, everything is still connected and I have TONS of space on a variety of locations. For example:
SAVING AS 'video for local playback (1.5 Mbps)
est. space required: 304.56MB
est. space on **network drive**: 106.51 GB
SAVING AS 'video for local playback (1.5 Mbps)
est. space required: 304.56MB
est. space on **desktop**: 46.85 GB
SAVING AS 'video for local playback (2.1 Mbps)
est. space required: 417.96MB
est. space on **CD**: 702.00 MB
The movie does have a combination of video, photo clips and music, but again, saving as a movie wasn't a problem until I got over 19 minutes. Could this be a RAM memory issue?
I'm grateful for any help. |

Welcome to the forums.
There have been a number of reported causes for this error. Try going to "Tools > Options > Compatibility" in Movie Maker and unchecking all the filters ending in .ax and see if that helps. If it doesn't, try breaking your project up into smaller pieces and see if you can save the pieces. |

| You're welcome - post back if that doesn't resolve the problem. |
