Can Live Movie Maker tolerate WMM 2.6

| I just bought a laptop HP DV6 1320SF with Windows 7 Home premium 64bits preinstalled. I downloaded and installed Live Movie Maker but haven't used it yet. I learned that this new version is very trimmed down compared to the last version which I need the timeline editing capabilities. Can anyone confirm to me that I can also install WMM v2.6 without the risk of crashing the computer. |

I have now installed WLL 2.6 and it didn't clash. So everything is ok. But now I have a further question:
I opened WMM to capture a miniDV tape via the firewire, I noticed under CAPTURE VIDEO, there are only Import video, Import pictures, Import audio or music, there is no more Capture from a camcorder or something like this. Good job that my laptop comes with PowerDirector which does capture, I then import the video using WMM. But is this normal? |

yes, it's normal.... the capture wizard in the Windows Live suite is what you would use if you didn't use PowerDirector. MM2.6 doesn't have a capture feature.

It's the WLXVideoAcquireWizard.exe in the c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Photo Gallery folder.
It's not part of Windows 7 but added by downloading/installing the Windows Live Essentials suite... you already have WLMM so you should have the wizard.
Plug your camcorder in and turn it on, and the wizard should help you from there... if your camcorder is a DV one connected by firewire. |
