Pictures on Title Overlay

I think that we should be able to add a picture on the title overlay, and make it transparent, so that a small picture can be added in the bottom corner like a company logo or what ever.

Where did you place your logo image file?
Check the extension of the file you copied the code into. It should be xml.

Did you change LogoBitmapFilename in the XML to point to your filename? Since you didn't place your logo in the Shared directory, you would need an absolute path to it. The relative path assumes it is in the same directory (e.g. "logo.png"). Also, note that .jpg files don't have transparency so you may not achieve the results you want.

Actually make that the ...\Shared\AddOnTFX directory where both your .xml and .png files should go.

Ack! I take it back. The path IS relative to the Shared path not the AddOnTFX subdirectory. Sorry for that confusion.

The easiest thing would be to put your logo in C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared.

Have looked, Rehan, but this is far too technical for me! Why oh why can't Microsoft just make it possible - other applications do it.

It's really not that difficult.

1) Create a C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX folder.
2) Copy the Logo example from Rehan's website (or from other posts on this forum) into Notepad.
3) Save it as mylogo.xml in the C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX folder.
4) Save your logo.gif file into C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared directory.

Now when you restart WMM, you'll have a new one line title animation called 'Logo' that you can choose (Tools > Titles and Credits). If you want text next to your logo, type that, otherwise type a single space. Choose the logo animation and click 'Done'.

Rehan Bro

Your article on Titles using XML file is killer. I never thought some one could solve my problem. I was searching for option where i can add a scrolling title at my desired location. WMM do not let me custom place my title. Your solution is awesome.

Thanks so much for sharing !

You are welcome. Credit also goes to other hackers too who discovered it independently.
