You'll need to convert is to a Movie. Search google for "Convert Powerpoint to video" and there should be links like this one - http://www.hexisoft.com/powerpoint-to-video.html

Once it's converted to an AVI or WMV, you can import the video into Windows Movie Maker.

Of course u can. You should make a video file of your presentation. This is the best program I ever used to convert pp presentations to video.

You can find it here: http://www.geovid.com/download/presentation-to-video.exe

Interesting... thanks for the link. Have you used it yourself?

With a $200 price... I'd expect it to be pretty good... I don't see any pointers to a demo or trial version and it mentions things like "supported most of codecs installed on user systems"... we all wrestle with codecs so I wonder if there are some not supported.

I'll go check to see if any forums or newsgroups talk about the app...

there are a few software apps mentioned in the thread.... which one do you mean? But whatever one it is, the tech support for the software is a better place to go with your issue.

I know this is a MM forum, but since powerpoint is brought up, anyone know how to capture the mouse movements to inport into powerpoint? I use powerpoint alot, and have started using MS Producer for future web site access. (for software demos). I can capture great screen shots with a a program called FullShot, but I was testing a shareware called Wink, which captures the mouse movements, so when viewed you see the mouse move to make the clicks, but this exports into swf(flash) which I cannot inport into powerpoint or producer.
any suggestions would be appreicated.....thanks...

I fixed the error problem! but people, DO NOT USE THIS SOFTWARE: PRESENTATIONS TO VIDEO CONVERTER! The video capture is dodgey becasue it freezes (but i think this is because i am using the latest version of powerpoint on xp) , I registered (unfortunatly) and it still comes out with a watermark! If anyone else uses/is trying the software, do u agree?

It seems they want $200 for the non-logo version... when you say "registered" you don't mean you paid the $200 and it still had the watermark?!

Did you try the bobyte.com utility? Any comments?

Another good tool, I've just tried is VideoPPT!
It converts quickly, without quality loss. I like it!

If you choose to use WMM to make a video for your PowerPoint, the animations, transitions and music in your presentation will be lost after the conversion. Also, it's time-costing.

For quicker ways to do this, and to get an excellent output video quality, you can use this PowerPoint to video covnerter to convert your presentation to various videos. All features that you add to PowerPoint will be retained after the conversion, like animations, transitions, music, videos and pictures.

Good luck.

According to me I think that we can not import a PowerPoint file into Windows Movie Maker directly, for Windows Movie Maker's supported input files are video, picture, audio or music. Open up Windows Movie Maker. Click on the File Menu then click on Import, after that choose the PNG file you saved from the PowerPoint presentation after you locate the file on your hard drive. Select all the slides, and click on "Import" to add them to Movie Maker.
