Issue #171 - Microsoft Office 'Live Meeting' Recordings
Posted: 09 Oct 2007 01:53 PM
Puzzles are always fun!!! Marco Shaw, an MVP in the Windows PowerShell area, was wrestling with a common challenge. He had recorded a 'Live Meeting'... in two parts.. and simply wanted to put the two parts together and trim out a segment of the first one.

He figured Movie Maker would do it easily, but he ran into the all too common situation where the time to completion ramps up forever, and given more than enough time, you get nothing.

Sure enough, MM2.1 and MM6 and import and preview the files but not save a movie from them... that's the puzzle.

It ended up OK... converted from wmv to wmv using the Encoder... and then did the editing in Movie Maker, saving the movie with a custom profile that aligned with the starting files.

The issue will be about the puzzle... how to assess the parts... and understand why the Live Meeting files don't work in Movie Maker.
