Issue #168 - Rehan's ShaderTFX for Vista's Movie Maker 6

The development has been going on for months... it's now here, the eagerly awaited version 1 of Rehan's ShaderTFX for Vista's Movie Maker 6.

What does it do? How well does it do it? That's the topic of this newsletter.

It's been an especially busy week for me with a deadline of delivering reviews of 4 software packages... they're almost finished and I expect to get the newsletter out to subscribers by late tomorrow night... it should be online for open viewing about December.

Here are links to a couple clips made using a PIP transition in the new ShaderTFX... mixing and matching aspect ratios of source files, MM6 projects, and custom profiles to use when heading to YouTube.

Standard 4:3 Project... saved to a custom widescreen 16:9 profile for YouTube.

Widescreen 16:9 Project... saved to a custom standard 4:3 profile for YouTube.

I got confused mixing and matching the two aspect ratios, but MM6, ShaderTFX and YouTube handled everything appropriately.... nothing got mis-shapen when viewing the source files, project, saved movies, or the Flash files on YouTube .

For the PIP, the movie file at the left is standard... while the PS3 story at the right is widescreen.

As a newbie, I may be on the wrong thread or an old one, but am looking for help after installing Rehan's package on Vista. All transitions and effects for ShaderTFX appear in MM6 as expected, but don't actually do anything. Nor do I get any message to the effect that I'm using the plugin for the first time as a trial. What's the story??
