I think you are trying to upload and play in media player your project file...to save it to your computer first look at the tasks lefthand side...then scroll down to save to my computer...click on that then choose your format and then it should save...then your saved file should play in media player etc

Did you copy them into notepad than saved as xml in the add on TFX folder.....If so you shouldn't be importing them into wmm they should be already in your transations. If Movie maker was already open when you saved them, close it and then reopen it and they should be there in your transition list...
Maybe this will help..

10.Re: A Saving Problem
Posted by paddy on 7/5/2007 3:30:39 AM
If you are running moviemaker 2.1 this may help...open moviemaker go to tools...options..compatibility tab and there should be alist of the codecs mm is using...hover your mouse over the path file(where it says the codec is stored) and it will give you the full name of the codec...uncheck any that have an ax on the end.. then try and save..

Firstly look at what format your project is eg. mpeg etc? Movie maker dosen't like mpegs if this is the format you are using you will have to convert it.

14.Re: No got to burn it to DVD for TV use.
Posted by paddy on 10/26/2007 11:13:15 AM
Hi...Moviemaker saves it as a wmv file or if its a video i recommend a dv-avi file which you can find in the more options box when you click on save movie.....To convert your wmv file into mpeg2 (which is the file on dvds) you need a third party dvd burning software eg Nero...
If you have a dvd burner on your pc there should be some dvd software on your pc...
Hope this helps

18.Re: How to watch my dvd on tv after saving it.
Posted by paddy on 10/15/2007 5:19:16 PM
Hello... Lets roll back and see if we can get you watching it on tv...
1, Did you save your project to your computer in Moviemaker?
2, Does it play ok in media player?
3, To burn a dvd in nero you need Nero VISION express not just nero express.
4, Sometimes dvd players dont play a vcd or a svcd...One of my dvd playrs would only play a vcd by pressing the number1 and then play on my dvd remote control.

Ok lets say you have your project on the timeline in moviemaker....then you click on save to your computer...Which option did you pick eg best for your computer or high quality large video etc? Whichever one you picked your show should be a wmv or dv-avi format. If this is so when you burn your cd using nero go for the svcd option not the vcd option and see if that plays on your dvd player.

The svcd option is the Super Video Cd option....First of all try it on your dvd player hooked up to your tv and see if that works......Have you tried to burn on another disc as i see from a previous post your dvd player says bad disc....Also i suggest trying svcd option as svcd converts your file to mpeg 2 format which is what dvds are made up of...Also check to make sure your dvd player will play a cd-r type of disc.

Hi Thought i would jump in and add my two pennys worth...I take it you have Windows Vista with the burn to dvd option...I personally have xp so i cant help with the burn to dvd but if you open up moviemaker...then in the top left hand corner there is a folder icon...if you click on it it should open my documents (by default i think)....try looking in the my videos option and see if your project is there...if so click on it to highlight it then click open and your project should load into ...

So you have made a wmv or dv-avi using moviemaker...open nero VISION express...please make sure you have the vision express as thats the one to burn it to a dvd. Add your video file ...create your menu and then burn it to a dvd.
