This post ought to get a bunch of people mad at me, but seriously ... this is how I do it.
Step 1 - Buy Ghost
Step 2 - Backup your files, favorites, & email.
Step 3 - Install Windows XP, all patches, MS Office, all patches, and your Virus scanning program ... nothing else. Movie Maker will now work properly again.
Step 4 - Restore your files, favorites, & email.
Step 5 - Make a Ghost Backup to DVD or ...

It updates every 30 seconds. I could tweak it up to every 15 second ... but, not much point. Ha, ha.
It also has a "security mode" which is motion activated and only takes a pic when there is motion.
As you can see I have way too much time for this stuff.

Ok. Now I have it updating every 20 seconds.
Man, what a difference (bwa-ha-ha).

Wierd. I was using the Trapzoid effect today ... can't get it to render without "noise".
Anybody else having this problem?

I did it the way you described ... saving individual videos then combining ... to no avail.
Maybe having the split black space in the middle will help.
Can you post the parameters you used to do that.
BTW, here's an example of the noise:

I got both versions (Horizontal & Vertical Trapezoids) to work.
The vertical one does seem to consistently produce "noise" in the saved product, tho. A few black line flickers.

Ah. I see.

Yes. Drag them over each other.
Also, use the right transition. I used the "SPLIT: Horizontal" from Rehan for the side-by-side version.
... and order makes a difference. The right trapezoid effect needs to be applied to the left clip on your timeline bar ... and the left trapezoid effect needs to be applied to the right clip in the timeline bar ... which is counter-intuitive ... but it won't work unless you do it that way (for me, anyway).

I bet you are using the "Split, Vertical" transition and not the "SPLIT: Vertical" transition, from Rehan. I did that ...

Spent 2 days at VA beach with the family. First day was cloudy, windy, and cold. We couldn't do much at the beach, so we went to see the airshow at Oceana Naval Air Station ...
The Blue Angels were there ... but it was the FA-18E/F that stole the show ... AWESOME.
Sunday, the weather was nice and we got some sun.
