|1.||MovieMaker 6.0 Not Compatible With Win10
Posted by likekinds on 10/5/2018 9:47:44 PM
Since the end of Vista, I've made very few videos. I tried MovieMaker 11 and 12 and they were a flop. For years I've tried to get a replacement for MovieMaker 6.0 with no results.
Today, I happened across Blaine's site again and found he was offering MovieMaker 6.0 for later versions of Windows, including Windows 10. I can't tell you how happy I was. I downloaded the software.
To my disappointment, it would not install. A check found it to be incompatible. ...

I must apologize, especially to Blaine. When I attempted to install, it never did show as complete. Instead, I got am incompatible error.
Today when I was removing some unwanted programs, I did find WMM installed. I tried it. It works. I do get an error message about updates every time I start it up, but, it does work. While I haven't made a video yet, what little testing I have done shows it to be a good, working program.
Thank you, Blaine

Could you put a link here for these effects? I can't find the original thread.

I have lost a couple of MSWMM files. In those two files were specific combinations of transitions and effects I had put together. I really like the results but I can't remember the combinations I used. The two were not identical, but close. It looks like the second one used the Flip transition with some added effect.
I use WMM, Rehan, Patrick L, Blaine and other effects and transitions. So the combinations I used could be from any one or more of these. If anyone could duplicate ...

I have a (hopefully feasible) suggestion for the forum. I have noticed that a lot of people do not add a clickable link to view their videos. I think this is because doing so can be rather confusing, at least the first few tries. I know it was for me.
All my email service providers give me the option of making any word in a sentence a clickable link. You just paste the URL in a box, and it's done. Would it be practical to add such a feature to WMM Forum?

I didn't notice the date. Now, I feel foolish. Is this Sandra person still alive?

Anyway, thank you Blaine, and my regards to this most remarkable woman.

Posted by likekinds on 11/5/2011 3:02:00 PM
This question is from a friend who feels she doesn't feel know enough of the terminology to put it to the forum, herself.
She is using WMM6. She has no problem publishing a video consisting of pictures and music to her computer, regardless of the format of either. She has never been able to add video clips, along with the pictures and music, and get the final video to publish, regardless of the format of the added video clip.
I asked her exactly what happens ...

I have several videos that were filmed in rather dark settings. I would like to take clips from them to use in other videos. In the process, I would like to lighten the clips just a little, and bring out the colors a little, too.
I was wondering if any WMM member had anything in the works along this line. In the video below, I've given three examples.
Picture 1 is the original
Picture 2 has the Bleach Bypass effect applied.

To date, I haven't written any script for effects or transitions. I just haven't taken the time to learn how. Until I do learn, I've been playing around with switching the accompanying pictures that comes with some of them.
Blaine has recently come up with some transitions that are so fantastic, I wouldn't do anything to alter them. He did add a gradient wipe that I thought I would play around with a little (always keeping the original, of course).
The little ...

I do have WMM 6 and a registered version of ShaderTFX. I was just hoping I might come up with something very striking...unlike anything seen before. I apologize and will remove the video.

I do understand that effects and transitions should be used with discretion. Were I to do a slideshow of tranquil pastoral scenes, with perhaps 'The Lark Ascending' as an accompaniment, I would choose the least distracting transition possible.
Many of my videos are very fast paced, quite often with emphasis on a heavy rock beat. It is here that I forgo any restraints and use effects and transitions with complete abandon. If you haven't seen any of my videos, here is ...

All is well. I tried to post a reply to let you know the video was reinstated. I kept being redirected to a page of advertisements.

|18.||Videos Drop To Audio Track
Posted by likekinds on 7/29/2011 9:11:27 AM
I had this problem a couple years ago and fixed it. I can't remember how I did it.
All of a sudden, when I try to drag an imported video into the video track; it will not go in. Instead, it goes to the audio track. The audio portion will play, but the preview window is black. I have tried about everything to get the video into the video track. It will not go there. What can I do to correct this?

You were the one who turned me on to Freemake. First; let me thank you for doing so. It's a great software. I especially like it's ability to easily produce a 1:1 DVD copy.
Now; back to my issue. Converting the video to WMV is not an option for me. As I mentioned in an earlier post; I can edit AVI in WMM, but not WMV. WMV will freeze every time. I mentioned I thought it strange that WMM could easily handle AVI, but not it's own format. I also noticed ...

|21.||Stop Stop Stop
Posted by likekinds on 6/14/2011 9:10:07 PM
All of a sudden today; no matter where I click on WMM interface, it stops the video in progress. If I click on effects; it stops the video. If I click on transitions; it stops the video. If I highlight a picture to drag it into the timeline; it stops the video. Again; no matter where I click; it stops the video. I can't get anything done. Does anyone have any idea as to what's going on and what I can do about it?

Apparently; you have had the problem all the time and thought it was normal. Does your preview screen go black as well when the video stops. Mine does now, and it never has before. I hope someone can come up with an answer. I would hate to reinstall WMM and have to reinstall hundreds of effects and transitions.

I'm not sure file types is an issue here. Perhaps I should have been more specific. The problem I mentioned happens now when I begin a video.
Say I have 1 mp3 and 5 jpgs and nothing else in the timeline. If I click on the third jpg; it appears in the preview pane. If I then click on effects to add 'ease in' (for example); the effects panel comes up, but the preview pane goes black.
I understand the correct way to do system restore. I tried resetting WMM ...
