All they would need to do is convert the file to DV-AVI prior to burning it on the DVD writer. I know that Sonic MyDvD currently has the option to create DVD's using .wmv files.

I had a similar problem and ended up using Windows Media Encoder to import from my capture card.

Search on Google for the free Windows Media Encoder download.
