1.Re: can some one please give me your time?!?!?
Posted by Persian Poet Gal on 12/19/2005 4:09:57 PM
Those particular effects come exclusive with Windows XP Media Center Edition PCs. However more basic zoom xmls have been written by various people so you might want to use the search option to search the forums. You can also check out Rehan's Pan Zoom Package. If you select the freeware/trial version you will have the high quality filter for 15 days. After it expires the effects still work but the filter is gone and results in ...
2.Re: i need really big help! spinning logo

It's difficult to create a title overlay like that but you could try combining a few effects together to pull it off. This isn't exactly the best method but here's what I tried out.

First familiarze yourself with the xml process ;). You can do that by creating a folder called "AddOnTFX" in this folder (C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared). Then open up Notepad to copy, paste, and save the xmls by saving it like this "name.xml". The whole process is ...

4.Fun Art Effects!
Posted by Persian Poet Gal on 10/22/2005 5:55:07 PM
I was playing around with the existing art effects that movie maker has and just thought I'd post most of them for reference or for those who don't have them. Counldn't figure out the icons so left them the same. You can see this video to watch some of the effects in action. Have fun and feel free to play around with the control values!

5.Re: Time Lapse sequence
Posted by Persian Poet Gal on 8/2/2005 1:11:54 AM
You mean that the speed of the footage would increase right :)? Just simply keep adding increase speed to the appropriate number of times till you reach what you're looking for. Don't worry if the footage starts to appear choppy in the preview window (you can always save as a movie to make sure everything is running smoothly ;). See how it works out for you.

Darn I keep forgetting to post things tonight :P, ehh-hem the increase speed option or speed up, double is in your Effects folder when you open up movie maker.

The camera overlay can be done with a title overlay or PIP Plus ;)(if I have time later I will try and come up with a version) and the xml for the shake effect is this (credit of course to the the programmer know-it-alls on this one ;):

^Yes again my absent mindedness at times gets the best of me :P.....and as far as the effect I can see you're absolutely correct now that I've researched what was up and down so to speak. I must admit my experience with xml is a few months worth so I am still diligently applying myself and not a relaxed master just yet lol. Thanks as always to you seasoned pros I'm glad at least this person can actually use and enjoy this new effect and helping me to remember my xml abcs lol ;)......

Posted by Persian Poet Gal on 9/8/2005 9:04:04 PM
Hurray I can help you :)! I sat down and opened up photoshop and put together a basic REC screen and wrote a PIP+ xml. First of all you need to download the demo version or purchase Rehan's PIP+ at this link (don't worry about when the demo expires it still lets you keep static effects such as borders or repositioning your video on the screen). The next is of course the xml process which as I said all is explained in the ...

^Yes I mistankenly added unnecessary lines from Rehan's handy work so yes my mistake :P. But I tested the effect and it worked just fine fortunately ;). Thanks for pointing it out.
11.Re: BASS Effect?
Posted by Persian Poet Gal on 8/29/2005 1:52:00 AM
Modify inc: You need to have the PIP Plus pack to activate the bass pump ;). The trial version only lasts 15 days and you'll only be able to keep the static effects once the duration period is over (for example effects that change the location of the clip on the screen or the size of the clip as a PIP), so if you want the bass effect to stay permanent you may need to pay for the full version.

Here's a code that I know as far and screen shaking goes (the credit goes to brilliantly amazing programmers here not myself :):

<EffectDLL guid="{ADEADEB8-E54B-11d1-9A72-0000F875EADE}">

dlk: That's an awesome suggestion I wish I were patient enough to figure all that programming :). Alas though we're all movie makers here though.....one of theses days I really should get hold of rehan's pip plus transitions.
14.Re: BASS Effect?
Posted by Persian Poet Gal on 11/30/2005 1:43:20 PM
freaksho: When I say name it like "name.xml" I mean you insert name in that portion. Also, the "bass" xml that dlk wrote only works with Rehan's PIP Plus Package. If you install the freeware version, for the first 15 days you are allowed to do animated effects such as the one in this post however, after the 15 day period expires animated effects will be disabled and the static effects (non-animated ...

17.Re: Chromakeying 101
Posted by Persian Poet Gal on 11/5/2005 1:16:05 PM
adambomb479: Here's a couple things you might want to check:

1. Did you check your Transition, Effect, and Title/Credit folders in the program?
2. Have you created the AddOnTFX folder in this location (C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared).
3. When saving the xml in Notepad did you make sure to type the .xml when typing the save name (e.g. "name.xml")?
4. Do you have administrator priveleges (does the ...
18.Re: Chromakeying 101
Posted by Persian Poet Gal on 8/30/2005 12:48:23 AM
Modify inc: Usually the fixed color ones only chroma key that color value only (you can try and modify the value yourself). For example the color blue value is 2 and color value of your film is 1, this results in no effect what so ever due to the values canceling out. In this case most recommend to use the Non-Red Chroma Key (the code is already posted above ;). This determines any Non-Red value as something to chroma out. It's quality is very crude but doesn't hurt to try once in ...

Yes I noticed this one a few days back and added it to a list of future references that I'd like to check with lol :).....the first chapter is finally "fleshed" out now as PapaJohn says (there's not only the video tutorial but a very extensive comprehensive guide to all the beginning procedures.) Though links to codes will be in further installments! At the moment I'm balancing high school so I had to take a break from boarding or site construction but I'm definetely not one to ...

^He heh well atrqlock thats for you to define ;). Waitlessness is not techinically a word used in the English language but to make it more understandable lets break it down:

wait (verb): to stay in one place or do nothing for a period of time until something happens or in the expectation or hope that something will happen

less (could be adjective, adverb, or preposition): a smaller amount or proportion ...

First you need to learn the basics of xml ;). You can find a walkthrough of applying xml code on the page in my signature. Next assuming you read the chapter or already know what to do you need to do apply these modifications to the brady bunch code:

^Compositing is kind of like a natural Chroma Key (bluescreen) using footage that is filmed against a black background instead of blue. Rather than totally cutting out the background color it makes the black transparent so the filmed object can be overlayed onto the edited footage. It's great for overlaying things like nuclear explosions and dust wisps due to how many particles they release in the air. Here's the xml code for it:
