I would like to be able to have music in the background while adding narration or other sound effects without having to save the movie and re-add another sound layer manually.

Open Movie Maker 2 and select from the top menu,
Help then About -
You should see Windows Movie Maker version 2.0.3312.0
or maybe 2.0.xxx incase my Plus! add-on made the version change.
Also I just checked my .exe file and it's version 2.0.3312.0 as well...
It sounds like you have Movie Maker 1
Look in C:\Program Files\Movie Maker for moviemk.exe and see if you have version 2.0.3312.0.

MSCam came from the Microsoft Office 97 CD... It was under CD extras or something of that nature... See if you can find an old Office 97 CD and try installing the file...
Good Luck!

Hello Chris,
The Dazzle 80 looks to be available in the UK.. Dazzle has been recently purchased by Pinnacle so maybe they are phasing the brand name out.

.
You should also be able to purchase these from Amazon.com or yes, ebay.com

I predict that Apple make a Huge comeback in the next few years. The are winning the fans from the Linux community as well as windows users who are looking for something different.
The IPod, was a big hit and you hardly ever see anyone bad mouthing Macs.

Some dell laptops have 2 slots top and bottom. I would put it in the one not being used or else if your PC has only one slot then you'll need to eject the modem card when using the Firewire PCMCIA card.

Try
TMPGEnc
It's a program used to convert video formats. Works quite well.

Try Ulead Movie Studio. It's not free but it's another alternative to MM2 http://www.ulead.com/vs/runme.htm.
I also have heard good things about Sony Movie Studio too.

I am confused with your question..
After going through the Capture from device wizard do you not see a live video image to start capturing? Are you using a capture card or direct connection to your pc?
OR
Do you mean importing exisitng video that was shot and stored on your camera into WMM? If so can you browse the file from Windows Explorer.
Sorry I am not that familar with WMM 1.0
