If its only a logo you want through the whole movie this can be done with an overlay

this is the logo overlay

This is L3 in the TRANSITIONS AND EFFECTS IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER thread
5.Windows media encoder 9 series
Posted by Bad Wolf on 1/11/2009 5:07:19 PM
I have this installed on my xp machine but want to install a version on a vista basic laptop.

On the microsoft website there are two versions the x32 for xp and a x64.

The x64 quotes:-

Download the 64-bit version of Windows Media Encoder 9 Series for Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and Windows Vista.

Which is the best one to download and use with the vista basic.

TIA

The still picture which is probably a jpeg, when imported back into WMM and put in the timeline will be about 10 second long.

Just shorten it to the required length in the timeline.

Cheers Nick :-)

A nice helpful program.

One question is it possible to change the colour of the insert where the text appears from red to another colour?

Thanks

11.sliding letters
Posted by Bad Wolf on 4/22/2010 3:38:49 PM
Hi All

Haven't been around for quite awhile, but I'm looking to start making some movies again.

I'm starting to look at pre-production of a movie and one area I need help is with a title effect.

I want the letters of the title to slide across the screen left to right; one at a time.

Is this possible; can anyone write a .xml code to do this? or is there another way of doing this.

TIA

BW

14.Re: One more question (I think) about my 1st project -- saving in DV-AVI format takes days?
Posted by Bad Wolf on 8/10/2009 6:33:43 PM
First off; if its photographs you would probably of been better of using Photostory 3.

What file type is the background music? if it's mp3 that is probably what is causing the problems with saving.

Best file format for WMM is either .wma or .wav, there is more chance these working that MP3's

One other thing when I place the fire clip over a clip I have filmed, it looks quite weak, transparent is there a way to darken down the fire clip so it looks less transparent.

Hey Guys

Haven't been around for a while, been busy and not had a lot of time to do any filming.

Starting to get back into it thoughSmileyand straight away I run into trouble, so I come here to ask for help :-)

I've download two clips from Neo's clip archive and have joined them together using comp A add B
Which is the little clip below.

well it's in TRANSITIONS AND EFFECTS IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER - for Movie Maker 2.x (XP)

It allows you to lay only image over another.

It does seem to be quite a few different 'members' posting these.

I know how difficult it is to keep on top of it.

Stop all these 'How to enjoy DVD and video...' threads that seem to be appearing every day?

Surely it's just spam, I know I don't have to read them but they are still annoying appearing in a lot of the disscussion groups.

That would be a good move :-)

Seems a big increase over the last few weeks, I have noticed a lot at a site that I am an admin on. Spend a lot of time deleting and banning.
23.Re: Adding movie to website

First up you need to host them at one of the hosting sites.

YouTube
Vimeo
Blip.tv
or a host of others I can't think of.

You Tube is probably best to start out with.

Once uploaded you then need to look for the embed code which on You Tube is like this. Copy this from your video and then paste into your website.

WMM is a free bit of software; it is limited but if you can work within those limitations then it's a reasonable piece of software.

If you can't then you will have to pay the big bucks and buy something from Adobe or Sony or pinnacle.

Microsoft are unlikely to spend money developing this as there are already many better products out there.
