With WMM 1.0, you could use analog bypass (if your camcorder supported it) to capture video. It appears that that feature was disabled in WMM 2.0 - it now requires a tape to be playing in order to capture. Does anyone know A) how to re-enable this or B) how to remove WMM 2.0? I think it's asinine to have to record something to tape then turn around and record it to my hard drive when I used to be able to skip the tape step. |

Many digital camcorders support a feature called "analog bypass." This feature allows you to essentially use your camcorder as a video capture device without requiring you to record anything to tape, and this is the feature I am referring to. WMM 1.0 supported it while WMM 2.0 does not. |

After Googling around a bit, I have found it is more commonly called analog passthrough. |
